I’m Kevin Connell, and I’m a web editor for ABC7/WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. While my past experiences are in sports, I’m most passionate about creating content that is both meaningful and shareable in the fast-paced, ever-changing digital landscape.
Prior to my current position, my experiences have been in sports. My past roles include Gridiron Now, an upstart college football media outlet where I was the assistant managing editor, and Tide 99.1 WDGM-FM (now Tide 102.9), where I was a beat writer covering primarily University of Alabama football and men’s basketball. Notably during my tenure at the sports talk radio station, I covered the Crimson Tide’s 2016 College Football Playoff national championship and its subsequent celebratory White House visit.
Other outlets where I have worked include Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (now NBC Sports Washington), which covers sports in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and communication studies from The University of Alabama in December 2015, graduating magna cum laude in three and a half years.
