Kevin Connell is a writer and editor, with experience in digital media. He is passionate about creating content that is both meaningful and shareable in the fast-paced, ever-changing digital landscape.
Kevin most recently served as the assistant managing editor for Gridiron Now, an upstart college football media outlet, where he helped run the day-to-day editorial operations. He also contributed heavily to the site’s Alabama coverage.
Previously, Kevin was The University of Alabama beat writer for Tide 99.1 WDGM-FM (now Tide 102.9) in Tuscaloosa, where he focused on football and men’s basketball. During his tenure at the sports talk radio station, he covered the Crimson Tide’s 2016 College Football Playoff national championship and its subsequent celebratory White House visit. Additionally, he served as Tide 99.1’s sideline reporter for radio broadcasts of Tuscaloosa County (Ala.) High School football games in fall 2015.
Other outlets where he has worked include Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (now NBC Sports Washington), which covers sports in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and communication studies from Alabama in December 2015, graduating magna cum laude in three and a half years. He was a staff reporter for The Crimson White, Alabama’s student newspaper, for two years, where he primarily covered Crimson Tide baseball and football.
Kevin is from Northern Virginia, where he currently resides.
